Job Description

Business Analyst – Change & Delivery

Permanent | UK-based | Hybrid

We’re supporting a small, specialist organisation operating at the heart of a UK‑wide, industry‑critical service. The organisation works across multiple stakeholders and partners to deliver and continually improve a complex, regulated platform.

This role is for a hands‑on Business Analyst who enjoys owning change end to end and takes pride in doing the fundamentals well.

The role

This is a broad, delivery‑focused Business Analyst role, with full ownership of change from first idea through to acceptance.

You’ll work across business stakeholders, delivery teams, and partners to ensure change is clearly defined, well governed, traceable, and operationally ready. The organisation is small, so this is a role for someone comfortable working across the full lifecycle rather than in a narrow niche.

This is not a people‑management role and not a purely technical position. It suits someone who enjoys being close to the detail and seeing work through properly.

Key responsibilities

Change governance & ownership

  • Draft and own Change Requests on behalf of sponsors
  • Support gated governance with high‑quality documentation (e.g. charters, impact assessments)
  • Ensure scope, benefits, risks, and assumptions are clearly defined
  • Take ownership of change from approval through to acceptance

Requirements & traceability

  • Translate business and industry needs into clear, structured requirements
  • Maintain full traceability from requirements through to delivery and acceptance
  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams
  • Champion clarity, quality, and consistency in documentation

Acceptance & operational readiness

  • Define measurable acceptance criteria
  • Coordinate UAT planning and acceptance activities
  • Ensure operational readiness, policies, comms, and process impacts are considered early

Product & roadmap support

  • Act as a product and change champion for existing functionality
  • Help stakeholders understand how the platform works and why
  • Support roadmap planning and dependency management

Collaboration & partnership

  • Work collaboratively with delivery partners and internal teams
  • Build trust‑based relationships and support a “one team” culture

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in capability and mindset, not job titles or brand names.

You’re likely to be someone who:

  • Enjoys owning work end to end, not just writing requirements and handing over
  • Cares deeply about clarity, structure, and quality
  • Is comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping others make sense of it
  • Takes documentation and traceability seriously
  • Values collaboration and partnership over control or hierarchy

This role suits someone who enjoys the craft of business analysis, rather than someone looking to move quickly into management or strategy‑only work.

Experience and skills

Useful experience includes:

  • End‑to‑end business analysis across complex change
  • Strong requirements definition and traceability
  • Working in regulated, multi‑stakeholder, or industry environments
  • Partnering with third‑party delivery organisations
  • Process mapping and structured analysis (e.g. BPMN, Visio, Lucid)

Industry background is helpful but not essential.

What’s on offer

  • A genuinely hands‑on BA role with real ownership
  • A collaborative, high‑trust working environment
  • The opportunity to shape how change is delivered in a growing organisation
  • Competitive salary, typically £70,000–£80,000, depending on experience

If you like the idea of doing Business Analysis properly — owning change, building clarity, and working in partnership — we’d like to hear from you.
